The 2025 Poets Cove & Port Sidney Cruise

From May 29 to June 1, 2025, we embarked on another unforgettable long weekend cruising the Canadian Gulf Islands. This year’s itinerary split the fleet into two destinations: Poets Cove on South Pender Island and Port Sidney on Vancouver Island. Both offered exceptional scenery, well-equipped marinas, and plenty of opportunities to connect with fellow boaters along the docks.

For new boaters, this annual cruise also serves as an excellent introduction to cross-border procedures, including customs check-ins and navigation planning between U.S. and Canadian waters.

At Poets Cove, participants enjoyed a quiet, sheltered marina with access to nearby hiking trails and panoramic viewpoints. Meanwhile, Port Sidney provided a vibrant harbor setting, complete with walkable streets, unique local shops, and excellent restaurants just steps from the dock.

Events kicked off with a lively happy hour and appetizer contest, where crews put their best recipes forward. The weekend also featured a classic dockside BBQ, our annual “5k(ish)” fun run, and plenty of evening socializing filled with games, laughter, and shared cruising stories.

Thanks to the support of the Fluid Motion team, the 2025 Port Sidney & Poets Cove Cruise delivered the perfect balance of boating, camaraderie, and exploration. It marked an ideal start to the cruising season, and plans are already underway for next year’s adventure.
