The grand “Pocket Yacht Knot” rendezvous was held at the Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Marina, a prime location chosen for its ample accommodations and picturesque surroundings. The chosen theme for this year's event was "Pirates of the Chesapeake Bay," with The Pocket Yacht Knot party donning pirate attire from head to toe.

The Pocket Yacht Company Crew selected this haven to host the merry band of 42 Ranger Tug, Cutwater, and Solara owners who heeded the call to adventure. The marina's resort amenities, including a spa, bayside pool, and fine dining establishments, ensured that our crew lacked nothin'.

Now, let's give all give a hearty “Yo Ho Ho!” to our esteemed commodores, John and Tracy, who played a vital role in the planning and organization of this maritime festival. Partnering with The Pocket Yacht Company Crew, John and Tracy kept the loyal fleet informed about event updates and rallied spirits. Additionally, their creative talents shone as they adorned the venue with nautical and scurvy splendor.

Throughout the event, attendees were treated to a treasure trove of highlights that would make even the most seasoned sailors' hearts fill with delight. The festivities kicked off on a Friday, with Lyon Rum Distillery from St. Michaels pourin' forth tantalizin' rum concoctions that stirred ye senses. A contest unfolded, searching for the Best Rum and Pirate-themed appetizers, offering a savory showcase of culinary creativity that left taste buds tinglin' with delight.

The Saturday morning sun rose to reveal a Bloody Mary Bar awaiting those in need of a bracin' start to the day. Seminars on nautical prowess, such as "Docking without Divorcing" by Captain Boomies, and lectures on Engine Maintenance by Jesse Dayton (Yamaha) and Andrew Sweet (Volvo Penta), provided valuable knowledge to our seafarin' enthusiasts. The adventurous ladies among the crew had the opportunity to participate in "Ladies Lessons on the water" courses, honing their skills and navigating the waves with grace.

For all ye explorers among the fleet, a complimentary shuttle whisked landlubbers into town for additional festivities. As the party carried into the evening, lively tunes of the pirate band "Bone n' String" filled the air. The boats themselves became floating works of art as they competed in the Boat Decorating Contest, while a talented face painter added a whimsical touch to attendees and crew. Delectable Caribbean cuisine and the legendary Annapolis "Rum Painkillers" satisfied our hunger and quenched our thirst, ensurin' that nary a pirate went to bed with an empty stomach or parched throat.

Come Sunday morn', a catered breakfast awaited the groggy yet content crew, followed by informative seminars about the Great Loop by AGLCA and a round table discussion called "Boat and Tell." 

Lookin' ahead, The Pocket Yacht Company Crew sets their sights on next year's event, where a fresh theme awaits us — "Crabby Gras." This Chesapeake Bay-inspired twist on Marti Gras will bring forth a celebration infused with crab-themed delights, as The Pocket Yacht Knot continues their tradition of deliverin' unforgettable experiences to boating enthusiasts.
